August is free movie month in Victoria!
Both the popular Mayfair Summer Drive-In and Free-B Film Festival are back again for 2012, offering fun summer movie nights for budget-conscious families. Shows start after dusk, typically between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Bring a chair or blanket for your comfort at the Free-B Film Festival, held in Beacon Hill Park at the Cameron Bandshell.
For the Mayfair Drive-In, visitors MUST pick up a parking pass from the Mayfair Mall’s Concierge Desk prior to the movie night. A limited number of passes for each Wednesday night show are available as early as the Saturday before. The parking gate off Blanshard Street opens at 6 p.m.
* Scrimp Secret * New this year at the Mayfair Drive-In: After you’ve parked for the movie, take your parking pass to the Mayfair Concierge Desk between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to receive a free Mayfair gift card. Randomly selected, the cards will have a value between $10 and $50 and must be used for purchases that same evening. Free movie, free shopping: what’s not to love?!

how can i watch the movie and take the parking ticket to cash it inbefore 9when the movie doesnt start till 930??!

It’s simple. You arrive early at the Mayfair (let’s say 6 pm), show your parking pass to get in and park your car for the movie, and then head down to the concierge desk with your parking pass to redeem it for a gift card. You then have from 6 to 9 to shop and use your gift card.
